PT Con Ed – Meet Our Experts

Mike Stare, PT, DPT

I’m Mike and here is a bit about me. I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy, and a co-owner of Orthopaedics Plus Physical Therapy Clinics and Spectrum Fitness Consulting. I also received my Nutritionist certification, my Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification, and completed a two-year fellowship at The Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. I have over two decades of experience as a Physical Therapist and fitness coach helping people optimize their function and manage pain. After tearing my rotator cuff early in his career, I became fascinated with shoulder injury prevention and rehabilitation. I lectures nationally to thousands of clinicians and hospital systems, using an engaging teaching style to cut through the complexities and distill effective evidence-based strategies that can be immediately applied and help patients right away with shoulder pain. I continue to hone my craft of understanding the needs of my patients with shoulder dysfunction and enjoy delivering “ah-ha” moments through these popular Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Pain Workshops, available to laypeople in my local communities where I practices. Over the years, I’ve delivered hundreds of presentations nationally on injury management, assessment, and fitness program design. I still continue to treat patients and clients at Orthopaedics Plus Physical Therapy and Spectrum Fitness Consulting located in Beverly and Bedford, MA. I earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Mass General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, a Masters in Physical Therapy from Boston University, and my BS in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I lives in New Hampshire with my wife and our three girls. Thanks for taking time to read a bit about me!

Justin Pezick, PT, DPT

Hey everyone! My name is Justin, and I am the co-owner of Orthopaedics Plus. I’m excited to share my journey with you. I think knowing your course host is a really important connection for trust and retention of information. So here’s a little about me and who I am. I’m a very driven person in all aspects of my life, especially with helping clinicians learn and connect with their patients to help them achieve their goals. This drive started when I was young with playing sports, fueled by an intense sibling rivalry with my little brother. This naturally led me to learn all that could about working out and enhancing performance. I became fascinated with the human body, and how to make it perform optimally. I read everything I could get my hands on about health and fitness. By 14 years old, I knew that I wanted to be a Physical Therapist. I was so lucky to have found my passion at such an early age. In addition to being consumed with sports and fitness, I worked construction and waited tables. This instilled a work ethic that served me well for my pursuits in becoming a physical therapist and business owner. I went on to complete a 6 year, double major program at Boston University, earning my Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Throughout college, I worked as a personal trainer and became a certified strength and conditioning specialist. After graduating, I continued my educational journey and completed a 2-year fellowship at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. Fast forward to 2016, I purchased a house and of course the first house project was to turn the basement into a complete gym! The next project was to fence in the back yard for my Shiba Inu, Tyson. As much as I love exercising and helping patients, my passion for leadership, coaching, and teaching people grew to new heights. With this growing passion, we’ve successfully cultivated great teams and a great culture. Foundationally, we have leadership systems in place to continue the growth and success of our teams and the organization. I’m excited to share my experiences and leadership lessons with you in hopes it helps you achieve the same success for your teams. Thanks for getting to know me!
